Chiang Mai is one of the best cities for tourists who would looking to discover a bit of charm. There are plenty of sights and must visit cafés to check-out. A day trip to Doi Inthanon

Located roughly 70 km from the city center, be prepared to touch the sky at Doi Inthanon. At a towering 2,565 metres above sea level, Doi Inthanon is the tallest mountain in all of Thailand. Here you can feel the whisper of the wind as you are embraced by the sea of mist as you are engulfed by the golden rays of sunlight. That breathtaking view will definitely blow your mind!

Seeing the sunrise at km 42 is an absolute must but Doi Inthanon has more natural attractions to offer. The stunning falls of Siritharn Waterfall and Wachirathan Waterfall are easily accessible and ready to be experienced.

The next must-visit attraction is the Twin Chedi, consisting of Phra Mahathat Naphamethaneedon and Phra Mahathat Naphaphon Phumisiri, which are located at the top of the mountain. The pagoda, surrounded by colorful flower gardens is truly a sight to behold and one of the most popular spots to visit for a gorgeous sunset.

If you travel to Doi Inthanon in early January, you will be blessed with cherry blossom season. You’ll find yourself surrounded by the most stunning display of cherry blossoms of Thailand ‘Nang Phaya Sua Kroang. However, you will need to plan accordingly as the full bloom only lasts two weeks!

The mossy forest at the Ang Ka Luang Nature Trail: A stroll along a certain wooden bridge will lead you to the mossy forests at Ang Ka Luang Nature Trail. Many visitors describe it as “walking into a fairy-tale.” Mossy forests cannot be found anywhere else in Thailand. In the mornings, the weather is cool, and fog envelops the forest. As sunlight permeates through the trees, you will be able to capture gorgeous photos to share.
